Why do I see the "Cannot Find Sound Device" error when launching SoundSoap?
When launching SoundSoap on some Windows systems that feature RealTek sound cards, you may see the error message "Cannot Find Sound Device".
If you are seeing this error message, it's because systems with this type of RealTek sound card require that a cable be plugged into the Input connection, even if no audio signal is sent to it.
The simplest way to activate your audio input is by plugging a spare set of headphones — or any 1/8" (3.5 mm) cable into the audio Input port on the sound card — no audio signal needs to be present.
You may also need to set the Line Input as your default recording device in your Sound control panel.
